Our Bowls Taster Days
We are, ahem, bowled over by the excellent numbers of people from near and far who came along to try out bowls at our four sessions. Many new members have signed up and they are very welcome to join us. We are impressed by how well everyone is doing. It's not easy to begin with, but all are showing a discernible improvement from the beginning of the sessions. Many stayed for tea and cake and a good chat, an essential part of bowling! Here is a photo from one of the days, lots more photos on the home page.

BIG BOWLS WEEKEND
Hexham Elvaston is joining over 800 clubs around the country by hosting a BIG BOWLS WEEKEND. It's for people to come along to the club and give bowls a try. Members: invite a friend, neighbour or even your grandchild to come along and have a go. It's on Sunday May 25th from 2.00pm until 5.00pm. And if you would like to form a team of triples to demonstrate a competitive match for visitors to see what happens in a game then let us know.

Green open
The green is open for practice and informal roll-ups. Do come along to enjoy our wonderful facilities. As usual the green will be closed for maintenance each Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning from 9.00am until no later than 11.30am and during league and friendly matches but there's lots of spare time to come along for a roll-up.
The first bowl was delivered by Mike Slade on 7th April and the Armstrong Cup was played on four rinks with another rink being used to train a brand new member.

Nines League
After an absence of a few years we are back in the Nines League.
Following a membership consultation enough men have committed to being available for selection to play in this Northumberland Bowls League in 2025.
Matches began on Tuesday April 22nd at 6.30pm.
There have been a couple of clubs withdraw from the league which is reflected in the new fixture list.

Thank you!
Thank you to all the club members who came along to Tidy up inside and out. We had members on the roof, clearing gutters, around the back cutting back, sweeping, cleaning, washing, painting, refurbishing tired notice boards, weeding - the list goes on. A great effort by all concerned.

Fashion Show
Over £1700 raised for Club funds! A great event and many thanks go to
all who organised or supported it in any way.
Funds will be used for important work required on our clubhouse.

President's Charity
Christina Auld, our President and Ladies' Captain for 2025 has chosen Macmillan Cancer Support as her charity.
