In celebration of our anniversary year, we are excited to share the journey of the development of the club, highlighting some moments from our history. Although early records are limited, we will include insights from local articles, offering a glimpse into our past. A couple of committee members have been leafing through our archives and they've found a few interesting things including a Song Book used during a tour of London clubs by members in August 1939. We can imagine enjoying the summer weather and peace just before war broke out. Perhaps we should republish it! Click on any of the images to pop them up in a bigger window.
Join us as we reflect on our growth and achievements over the years.

The Queens Cup was first presented to the Club on 11th July 1935 by the Hexham Entertainments Company, then owners of the Queens Hall. The tradition of members wearing red, white and blue for this event is a flawed one as at some point someone decided that the Cup was an event to celebrate our Queen. The irony is that it was given to the Club when King George V was on the throne! The Queens Hall CEO and Artistic Director Katy Taylor came specially for the 90th anniversary.
